29th May 2010:- Sponsors Day
After a tricky start to the competition with the late withdrawal of 2 teams the 1st section were playes as triples and the 2nd section as rinks. The day flowed smoothly thereafter despite the slight drizzle but this did not dampen the spirits and a good day was had by all with last years winners The Grange retaining the trophy. Well done and a big thank you to all our sponsors. Here are a couple of photos taken during the day.
5th June 2010:- Nod Wilkinson Drawn Triples
The day started off in basking sun and the rain then started during the semi-finals and these matches were "abandoned" for an hour before the green was playable again. The winners of the competition were G. Hobson, C. Mckinley & M. Alexander(skip) who overcame Mrs. E. Hill, I.Richie & M. Cazaly(skip)
6th June 2010:- Tweedside
Lauders 2 rinks competed today at Newtown both teams winning 2 and losing 2 games which was not enough for them to proceed to the finals.

12th June 2010:- Open Pairs
6 visiting pairs graced our green for this open competition along with pairs from Lauder. 3 of these pairs reached the semi-finals and the final was contested between 2 Musselburgh pairs. The final was a finely contested affair with the winner determined in the last end where Keith hay & Jim Fenton defeated Martin Nisbet & George Cowie
20th June 2010:- Ladies Border Tournament
Today the following Ladies qualified for the finals of the Border Tournament to be held at Buccleuch on 26th June.
Pairs: Mrs A. Telford & Mrs. M.E. Scott (skip)
Senior Fours: Mrs M. Middlemiss,Mrs M. Ogilvie,Mrs. C. Elrick & Mrs I. MacRae(skip)
On Saturday 26th June Lauder Ladies Senior Fours (consisting of Mrs M. Middlemiss,Mrs M. Ogilvie,Mrs. C. Elrick & Mrs I. MacRae(skip)) met Selkirk at Buccleuch and had a convincing win. Then they met Ettrick Forrest the game was even all the way until Lauder scored 3 shots with 2 ends to go, Ettrick Forrest gained 2 shots in the next end and 1 shot at the last end forcing an extra end. Lauder was lying shot with 2 bowls left Ettrick Forrest took out Lauder's bowl and Lauder couldn't replace it giving Ettrick Forrest the Gold Medal and Lauder receiving the Silver.
10th July 2010:- G&G Open 3 Bowl Pairs
RATHER DAMP START TO THE REARRANGED COMPETITION,WE HAD 5 VISITING CLUBS,GOOD BOWLING AND CLOSE GAMES,FINAL WAS A CRACKER WITH THE FINAL END BEING PLAYED THREE TIMES DUE TO BURNT ENDS,FINALY WON BY THE MUSSELBURGH BOYS AGAIN KEITH HAY AND JIM FENTON WELL DONE BOYS THATS THE DOUBLE.HARD LINES TO BEATEN FINALISTS ROSS NICHOL AND KEV DONALDSON
11th July 2010:- Ladies Open Pairs
VERY WINDY DAY MAKING IT DIFFICULT BUT A GOOD TURN OUT OF 28 PAIRS.THE FINAL WAS WON BY KAY PURVES AND SHIELA BROWN FROM CHIRNSIDE BEATING CHRISTINE STRICKLAND AND JANET BROWN FROM PEEBLES WELL DONE LADIES.
13th July 2010:- E.S.W.B.A. (Finals)
A rink and a single played at Dalkeith Bowling Club on Tuesday 13th
July 2010 to play in the East of Scotland Womens Bowling Association (ESWBA) district finals and both WON!!!
Congratulations to - Gwenda Ainslie in the singles
Alice Telford, May Ogilvie, Jean Ker, Margaret E.Scott (skip) in the
rink.
They all received a winners medal and now go on to play in the Area
quarter finals at Sighthill on Monday 26th July,2010.
Well done girls and hope you do well in the next round. This is the
first time Lauder have entered this competition, they have done the
club proud and the club is very proud of them
